Installation of Automatic Weather Stations, High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, and advanced forecasting tools forms the foundation of this project to strengthen weather and climate services in Lesotho. By improving data integration, forecasting accuracy, and early warning systems, the initiative supports better decision-making and builds climate resilience across key sectors such as agriculture, transport, and disaster management.
Lesotho

This project focuses on strengthening weather and climate services in Lesotho through advanced technology, data integration, and capacity building. By leveraging Automatic Weather Stations, High Performance Computing (HPC), and modern forecasting tools, the initiative aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of weather predictions.
Key components include the implementation of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) and nowcasting systems, integration of climate monitoring networks into digital platforms, and the development of user-friendly data portals. The project also emphasizes model verification, bias correction, and impact-based forecasting to better support critical sectors such as agriculture, transport, and disaster management.
Through these efforts, the project enhances decision-making, improves early warning systems, and contributes to building climate resilience across Lesotho.
Advancing Climate Intelligence for a Resilient Lesotho
We are committed to strengthening weather and climate services across Lesotho through innovative technology, data integration, and capacity building. Our projects are designed to improve forecasting accuracy, support decision-making, and enhance resilience across key sectors.
